Ever wondered, "How am I going to put together a church programme for children?" Even though I am experienced at ministry I still sometimes ask this question myself. So, for leaders and teachers out there, here are a few ideas:
PROGRAMME
- Have an idea what the children in the church are like, such as, who is out going or who is quiet.
- Plan an outline, such as, Welcome, Bible Story, Activities (craft, colouring in, Bible games, memory verses etc.)
- Use a Children's Bible's to illustrate a story.
- Children's praise tapes or live music (piano etc.) is great.
- If you can use a computer, you can do a power point presentation.
- Role plays (5-12 years-old). You may like to write your own plays.
- If you use material, try to use modern material, which is for a child's age level.
- Try and make the program fun.
- Pray at the beginning and at the end.
HELP FOR YOURSELF
- Pray about the program, with your team and by yourself.
- If you find it hard to put together items, write them down
- Try and get people to help you. It may be hard (I know) but keep asking around the church.
- Read Bible verses, this will give to peace, joy and strength within the Lord.
This month's verse: Mark 10:27 (NIV). Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible ." Remember, all things are possible with Jesus who strengthens us and also you need to know that Jesus is with us all the time (24/7). I feel that when we pray or read the word, God will provide people to help, pray, or play music.
