IDEA'S FOR CHILDREN'S CHURCH:

Often Children's Church teachers are looking for different ideas at Christmas time, so the following may help.

a. Suggest to your Pastor/Minister that the children run a church service.  Not just singing at the front of the church but one of the Children's Church team write an outline for a service, such as, some kid's may sing, read scriptures, do a play, help with collection etc.

b. A play about the birth of Jesus with role playing (actions only) and music in the back ground.

c.  Write your own play. Be creative.

FAMILY DATA:

If you have read the article in the, "family" section of this web site, about behaviour, then this could  apply to your Church.  Your children could be hurting within the church. DO NOT DENY IT, SEE THE TRUTH.  If a child is hurting or depressed there is something wrong. Being a leader in ministry I know my first line for help is the Lord, such as,  praying to Him but also through His word (The Bible). Psalm 6:3 says," My soul is in anguish. How long, O Lord, how long?" (NIV). This may indicate that we may need patience in understanding a child's problem.  Verse 4 goes on to say, "Turn, O Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love."(NIV). The love of Jesus is the unfailing love, it can give us strength in seeking answers. So, if a child is angry/depressed because of a problem then we need to understand that Jesus is the answer to our prayers. Do not judge children  because they have behaviour problems, try and understand the issue at hand and take it to the Lord in prayer. The other thing is (like in the family article) a child may need help by having some counselling. Maybe your church has counsellors to help or if you need help contact  a counsellor outside the church. Be sensitive about how you handle it, DO NOT BIBLE BASH a child.
